Spirit Music, one of the world’s leading independent music publishers, has signed Los Angeles-based songwriter and producer Jason Vance Harris to its roster. Harris joins HARDY, Ojivolta, The Black Crowes, ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, David Garcia, Ryan Beaver, Monty Criswell and more in aligning with the global music publisher.
Harris, who is managed by Big Family Music, has been refining his craft for over a decade despite being only 24 years old. He began his journey touring and playing hundreds of shows with his first band, becoming the youngest performer to headline a stage at Jay-Z’s “Made In America” festival at only 14. Harris has spent the past year playing guitar alongside beabadoobee, while writing and executive producing for her, including lead single “Sun Has Set” from her newly released album, Pylon, plus featured collaborations “All I Did Was Dream of You” with The Marias, and “Nothing To Prove” with Hayley Williams. He and The 1975’s Matty Healy co-wrote and co-produced several songs together on bebadoobee’s Pylon, which debuted at No. 1 on UK’s Official Albums Chart and Australia’s ARIA Albums Chart, and Top 10 on Billboard’s Top 200.
Harris also executive produced Keni Titus’ debut project mud on my superstars and her song “juliet,” in addition to singles for artists including Role Model, Eli, Juliet Ivy, Emory, and The Army, The Navy. Lyrical Lemonade described Harris’s production as having a “superstar magnitude of audio fidelity.”
“Jason is exactly the kind of songwriter and producer we love building with at Spirit. Insanely talented, endlessly curious, and collaborative with everyone in the room,” shares Lou Al-Chamaa, EVP of A&R, Spirit Music. “From the first conversation, it was clear he wasn’t just chasing hits, he was chasing great songs. We’re thrilled to have him on the team.”
“Having a team of people at Spirit with great taste and ideas has been a game changer, and I have felt so supported as a songwriter and producer,” shares Harris.
